The Executive Board adopted the Emirate of Abu Dhabi last week the budget for the application of environmental management system, health and safety in the manufacturing sector, which is supervised by the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones.
The industry sectors involved in the application of a system at this time where the regulatory authority for the sector (Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones) to register a list of 274 industrial facilities and new work on the development and application of regulations during 2010-2011. Through this budget will provide the necessary requirements for the application, which includes providing the necessary manpower to review the systems, industrial facilities and inspection of equipment and control equipment in addition to building capacity in the application and raise awareness in the industrial sector.
The Supreme Commission for Environment and Health and Safety had recommended at its last meeting held by the end of December 2009 the need for the sectors concerned the application the lifting of any special requirements for the application of the system through the High Commission authorized the Executive Board to oversee the implementation of the system at the level of the emirate. Working in other sectors is currently preparing its requirements for submission to the Executive Board through the High Commission, including the health sector and the tourism sector.
In this context, a "Abu Dhabi Centre for Environment and Health and Safety" on Monday, March 15, 2010 workshop on environmental management system, health and safety of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with the participation of representatives of various sectors involved in the application.
The aim of this workshop is to review the main achievements since the beginning development of the system in 2007, adding to the achievements of the sectors in this area, which was adopted regulations in 2009. The workshop also discussed the documentation of the legislative framework of the system and the amendments will be made when it issued the second version by the end of this year as part of the process of continuous improvement.
The workshop reviewed the main activities of the Abu Dhabi Environment, Health and Safety, which includes the launch of an awareness campaign about the system during the coming period, after the appointment of a company specialized in this area and to tender for the appointment of service provider to set up an electronic system, a special system at the level of the emirate in cooperation with all sectors involved in the application, in addition to rehabilitation of training institutions on the system after the adoption of training courses from a global institution supported.
This workshop comes within the program of the Abu Dhabi environment, health and safety relating to raising the capacity of government agencies and sectors with a view to rehabilitation and education professionals the requirements of the application of the system and the latest developments of its own.
